Member Contributions
The annual budget of the Velocity Interoperability Network is met by contributions from its member organisations. Each member is placed in one of three contribution bands according to the number of nodes it has registered with the Network on 30 June of the preceding year. The standard rate is fixed each year when the budget is approved, so that the contributions of all members together equal the approved expenditure.
- Band A
- Member organisations operating more than fifty registered nodes, or providing a shared service used by other members. Assessed at the full standard rate.
- Band B
- Member organisations operating between ten and fifty registered nodes. Assessed at one half of the standard rate.
- Band C
- Member organisations operating fewer than ten registered nodes, and members in their first year of membership. Assessed at one fifth of the standard rate.
Assessment notices are issued by the Department by 15 January. Contributions are payable in two equal instalments, due on 31 March and 30 September, by transfer to the account stated on the notice. A member that disputes its band may apply for review within thirty days of the notice; the contribution remains payable while the review is pending.
A member whose contribution is more than ninety days overdue is reported to the other members and may have its voting rights suspended until the arrears are settled. Enquiries about assessments may be sent to contact@treasury.gov.vin.
