Timetable for the First Annual Budget Confirmed

The Treasury Department has confirmed the timetable for the first annual budget of the Velocity Interoperability Network, which will cover the financial year from 1 January to 31 December 2027.
Indicative estimates for 2027 were received from every department of the Network on 1 September 2026 under the interim arrangements. The Department has adopted those estimates as the basis of the draft budget, and has asked each department to confirm or revise its figures by 20 September 2026. The draft budget will be circulated to all member organisations on 1 October 2026, and comments will be accepted until 31 October 2026.
The Department will publish a summary of the comments received and its response by 15 November 2026. The final budget will be laid before the member organisations for approval on 1 December 2026 and will take effect on 1 January 2027. Assessment notices for 2027 will be issued to members by 15 January 2027. Guidance for departments preparing their estimates is published on the Estimates page of this site.
