The Treasury Department has today published the transitional budget of the Velocity Interoperability Network. The transitional budget covers the period from the establishment of the departments on 6 September 2026 to the close of the financial year on 31 December 2026, and provides for expenditure of 13,180,000 credits together with a first appropriation of 1,310,000 credits to the reserve fund of the Network.

The transitional budget was agreed by the founding member organisations on 10 August 2026 under the interim arrangements that preceded establishment. It is divided into the five lines that will be used in every annual budget of the Network: shared services, departments and offices, standards, audit and oversight, and the reserve fund. The allocation to each department and office for the remainder of the year is published on the Spending page of this site.

The transitional budget is met by a single contribution from each of the forty-two member organisations, assessed at a standard rate of 700,000 credits and weighted by contribution band. The Department will publish its first quarterly statement of expenditure, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, by 30 October 2026.
